The Turner School of Construction Management (TSCM) is the oldest community outreach program in Turner’s history. It was initiated in 1969, one year after our Affirmative Action Department was created, and soon became an opportunity to develop strategic business relationships with diverse, women-owned, veteran/disabled, LGBTQ, and small business contractors. Since then, Turner has provided a training course for these firms in the disciplines practiced in the construction industry.

The program is designed to prepare diverse, women-owned, veteran/disabled, LGBTQ, and small business contractors for contract procurement opportunities in California. Dedicated diverse, women-owned, veteran/disabled, LGBTQ or small business contractors. Individuals enrolled in the program gain insights and meaningful tools that help them target their business for quality and growth and develop new, strategic business relationships.

As we return to in-person, we will be limiting the program to 20 participants. Due to the high demand of this program, we are only able to accept one individual per firm.

This program is designed for certified diverse, women-owned, veteran/disabled, LGBTQ or small business contractors. Firms must have 2 years of active work performance prior to application and hold an active “A,” “B” or “C” contractor license issued by the California State Board.

“TSCM is worth every minute and then some. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to hear from the various instructors throughout the program. They hit on everything from leadership to finance to the field, and everything in between. I was able to bring back a ton of value to my partners and our business. The insight and practical knowledge was shared in a way that we could easily apply these learnings and make changes to better our business. This program definitely exceeded the expectations I had for it.  ”

— Kristian Montgomery, Bradanini Electric

“Of all my education and experience, this was by far the best class I have ever taken. I feel so confident that many areas of growth will come from this. To my classmates, it was so great working with you all. I am thankful that I have made some lasting friendships.”

— A. Nicole Arredondo, Corporate Modular Services
